Terms & Conditions (2026 – All Event Bookings)
These Terms & Conditions apply to all private, corporate, council, community and large-scale public event bookings made with ColourMe Face & Body Art (“ColourMe”).
1. Acceptance of Terms
- Payment of the booking fee and/or written confirmation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
- Any variations must be agreed to in writing prior to the event.
2. Booking & Confirmation
- Dates may be held for up to 48 hours following enquiry.
- A booking is confirmed once written acceptance and the required booking fee are received.
- If confirmation is not received within 48 hours, the date may be released.
3. Fees & Payment
- A 30% non-refundable booking fee secures your event date and time.
- The remaining balance is due 5 business days prior to the event, unless alternative written terms are agreed.
- Corporate and council clients may request alternative payment terms at time of booking.
- If it is a last-minute booking (within 7 days of event date) full payment is needed.
- An invoice with full payment details will be issued upon confirmation.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Where possible, bookings may be rescheduled and the booking fee transferred to a new
- date (subject to availability) within a 6 month window unless otherwise discussed.
- Cancellations within 14 days incur 30% of the total booking value.
- Cancellations within 48 hours incur 50% of the total booking value.
- All cancellations must be made in writing.
Event Delivery Standards
5. Products & Skin Safety
- Professional, water-based paints compliant with EU and FDA cosmetic regulations are used.
- Products are hypoallergenic and cosmetic-grade.Only cosmetic-grade glitter is used; biodegradable options are prioritised where possible.
- Paint removes with soap and water. Temporary mild staining may occur on some skin types.
6. Hygiene & Infection Control
- ColourMe adheres to strict hygiene standards:
- Guests must appear well and free from visible illness or contagious skin conditions.
- Artists attend only when fit for work.
- Hands are sanitised as necessary.
- One sponge per guest (never reused during the event).
- Brushes are cleaned between uses and water changed as required.
- All equipment is thoroughly sanitised after each booking.
7. Breaks & Staffing
- For bookings exceeding 4 hours, artists take rest breaks in accordance with New Zealand employment standards:
- 10-minute rest break every 2–4 hours worked
- 30-minute meal break after 6 hours worked
- Where multiple artists are present, breaks will be staggered to maintain service flow.
8. Force Majeure
- Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, public health orders, venue closures, civil unrest or similar events.
- Both parties will act in good faith to reschedule where possible. If rescheduling is not feasible, payments (excluding the booking fee) may be credited toward a future booking within six months.
9. Setup & Space Requirements
- Clients must provide:
- Minimum 2m x 2m space per artist
- Adequate lighting
- Artist usually bring their own set up.
- Appropriate seating- if needed
- Sufficient queue space
- Table (approx. 0.5–1.5m x 1m)- this will be advised at booking, as each artist usually has
- Outdoor events must provide shade and shelter. ColourMe cannot transport gazebos due to scheduling between events.
- Artists aim to arrive 10–30 minutes prior to start time.
10. Guest Participation
- No one will be painted against their will.
- Children under 3 years of age are not advised to receive face paint.
- Young children must remain supervised.
11. Skin Sensitivities
- Patch testing is available upon request.
- Guests/guardians must disclose known sensitivities.
- ColourMe is not liable for undisclosed allergies.
12. Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, ColourMe shall not be liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss, undisclosed allergic reactions, unsafe event conditions outside our control, or losses beyond coverage provided by ACC and any applicable insurance.
- Face painting involves cosmetic products applied to skin; minor temporary reactions may occur in rare cases.
13. Queue & Time Management
- Services conclude at agreed finish time.
- Queue may close 15–60 minutes prior to finish.
- Large events should provide a line manager (available through ColourMe at additional cost).
14. Additional Time
- If available, additional time is charged at $75 per painter per 30 minutes, agreed onsite.
15. Other Entertainment
- If inflatables(eg bouncy castle) are present, confirm painted guests are permitted.
- Sweating may affect paint durability.
