Welcome! I’m Charlotte Henley Babb, and I write stories for people who like their fiction with a side of sharp wit, a healthy dose of cynicism, and a definite Southern accent.

As a writer, watercolor artist, and non-linear thinker, I’ve always believed that life is far too interesting to be taken completely seriously.

I am the creator of the Maven Fairy Godmother series—which follows a snarky, middle-aged protagonist navigating the glitchy, chaotic machinery of Faery—as well as the gritty, atmospheric sci-fi world of Malparadiso Station. Whether I am fracturing classic folklore, spinning tech-cult space thrillers, or exploring the quiet, wistful complexities of the "real" world, my stories center on resilient, slightly cynical survivors who are just trying to figure out their own version of a happily ever after.

When I’m not wrangling dragons, dimension-hopping rogues, or psychic serpent sisterhoods, you can usually find me painting miniatures, experimenting with low-carb recipes, or enjoying a quiet morning with a hot cup of coffee.
