The portrait of the artist Dany Dee holding one of the prints of his drawings in hands

About Me

Hi! My name is Dany Dee. I was born at the turn of the collapse of the Soviet Union and grew up in the gangland of St. Petersburg. Like any queer child of the post-Soviet space, I was an eternal outsider — different from my peers in a way I couldn’t name, but everyone felt it. Art school became my refuge. Drawing filled the days and made loneliness bearable.

Life pulled me away from the pencil for more than fifteen years — immigration, coming out, searching for myself in every sense. Then the pandemic arrived, and pinned to the wall by isolation, I picked up a pencil and began drawing everything that had been forbidden to even think about. I discovered the beauty of the male body, the quiet power of homoerotic art. Drawing became my job, my vocation.

In 2022 I left Russia, a country where gay people are persecuted and criminalised. I was granted political asylum in Spain — and it was here, in freedom, that my art truly found its voice. My work has been exhibited in queer galleries in Germany, and today I create from Murcia, building collections that celebrate queer masculinity, desire and love.

This shop is part of that new life. Every print is hand-drawn and signed. Nothing mass-produced. Nothing generic. Just art that means something — because for me, it always has. This is me. I am. And I will be.
