How I Shifted My Mindset Around Money and Success

Introduction: The Moment Everything Changed

Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you work, money just never seems to stay? That no matter what you do, there’s always a bill, an unexpected expense, or some other reason why you can’t get ahead? That was my life for years.

I used to believe that money was hard to get and even harder to keep. I felt stuck in a cycle of financial stress, always waiting for the next paycheck, constantly worried about making ends meet. But then, something shifted. I started questioning my beliefs about money and success. Instead of accepting my financial struggles as normal, I decided to challenge them.

It all started when I came across the concept of manifestation—the idea that our thoughts shape our reality. At first, I was skeptical, but I was also tired of struggling. I started watching videos, including this powerful one, and I remembered hearing about The Secret, a movie about how our thoughts influence what we attract in life. So, I watched it, and for the first time, I considered: What if money wasn’t the problem? What if my beliefs about money were?

That was the moment everything changed. Within a month of implementing what I learned, I manifested almost $8,000—enough to pay off my credit card debt and shift my entire perspective on wealth. And it wasn’t magic. I didn’t win the lottery. The money came from unexpected sources, like unclaimed funds, surprise payments, and money I had forgotten about. But the key was this: my mindset changed first, and then my reality followed.

Let me show you exactly how I did it.

Step 1: Understanding That Scarcity Is a Mindset, Not a Reality

One of the biggest lessons I learned was that scarcity is not about how much money you have—it’s about how you think about money. I used to say things like:

  • “Money is hard to get.”
  • “I’ll never have enough.”
  • “Something always comes up to take my money away.”

And guess what? I kept experiencing exactly that.

Neville Goddard, one of the most influential teachers on manifestation, taught that our reality is a direct reflection of our assumptions. In his words, “Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled.” This means that if you believe money is scarce, your world will reflect that belief. If you assume that money flows easily, you will start seeing proof of that everywhere.

Exercise: Identifying Your Money Beliefs

💡 What do you believe about money? Write down the first thoughts that come to mind when you think about money. Are they positive or negative? Do they come from fear or trust?

Once I did this exercise, I realized that my entire relationship with money was built on fear. No wonder I kept struggling.

Step 2: Rewriting the Story You Tell About Money

Once I became aware of my negative beliefs, I decided to rewrite them. Instead of repeating old patterns, I started saying things like:

  • “Money comes to me easily and effortlessly.”
  • “There is always more than enough.”
  • “I am worthy of financial abundance.”

At first, these statements felt fake. But I committed to saying them daily. I wrote them down. I repeated them out loud. And soon, something incredible happened: my mind started accepting them as truth.

And then, the money started coming in.

Within weeks of shifting my mindset, I found unclaimed money—over $2,000 I didn’t even know I had. (Btw if you live in the US you might have unclaimed money too! Check this article to see how you can find out). I also received money from unexpected sources: payments I wasn’t expecting, money I had forgotten about from my last job, and random financial blessings. It was as if the universe was showing me that money was always there—I just hadn’t been open to receiving it.

Step 3: The Role of Gratitude and Visualization

One of the most powerful shifts I made was feeling grateful for money before it even arrived. This was something I learned from both The Secret and Neville Goddard’s teachings.

Instead of focusing on what I lacked, I focused on what I already had and what I knew was coming. Every morning, I practiced visualizing myself with the money I wanted. I would close my eyes and imagine checking my bank account and seeing the number I desired. I would feel the excitement as if it were real.

I Created a Mind Movie 🎥

To take my visualization practice to the next level, I created a Mind Movie—a short, powerful video designed to reprogram my subconscious mind for wealth and abundance. I combined affirmations, images of financial success, and uplifting music to make my goals feel real. Watching this daily reinforced the feeling that abundance was already mine.

Gratitude Practices That Shifted My Reality

  1. I created a Mind Movie – Watching it daily helped me stay focused on abundance.
  2. I visualized financial success before sleep – I imagined myself already financially free, feeling the emotions of abundance.
  3. I celebrated every dollar – Instead of complaining about bills, I thanked money for allowing me to pay them.

The more gratitude I practiced, the more money found its way to me.

This shift alone made a huge impact. Suddenly, money didn’t feel like a source of stress. It felt like something that was constantly flowing in my life.

Step 4: Acting As If You’re Already Abundant

One of the biggest mistakes people make with manifestation is waiting until the money shows up before they feel abundant. But the truth is, you have to feel wealthy first, and then the wealth follows.

Neville Goddard teaches that “You must live as if you are already the person you wish to become.”

For me, this meant:

  • Carrying myself with confidence – Instead of worrying about money, I walked and talked as if I already had financial freedom.
  • Making small “abundant” choices – I started tipping generously, treating myself without guilt, and giving without fear.
  • Letting go of scarcity habits – I stopped saying “I can’t afford it” and replaced it with “How can I make this possible?”

The more I acted as if I was already abundant, the more money found its way to me.

Step 5: Trusting the Process (Even When It Feels Impossible)

Doubt will creep in. It’s normal. There were days I questioned whether this was all just coincidence. But every time I started to doubt, I reminded myself: What’s the worst that can happen if I just keep believing?

I also kept watching videos like this one to reinforce my belief. Surrounding myself with people who spoke about abundance helped me stay focused.

And as I kept trusting, money kept coming.

Final Thoughts: You Have This Power, Too

I am not special. I don’t have some secret advantage. The only thing I did was shift my mindset, and in doing so, I shifted my reality.

Money is always available. Opportunities are always present. The only thing standing in the way is the belief that they aren’t.

If you’ve been struggling with money, I encourage you to try this for yourself. Change the way you think, act as if you are already abundant, and trust the process. Because once you shift your mindset, your circumstances will follow.
