Introduction: The Struggle of Holding On Too Tight
For most of my life, I felt like I had to control everything—my future, my finances, my relationships. I planned, I stressed, and I obsessed over how things should work out. But despite my best efforts, life never seemed to unfold the way I wanted. And the harder I tried to control the outcome, the more resistance I faced.
Then, something shifted.
I began learning about trusting the universe—releasing the need to micromanage every detail and allowing things to happen naturally. At first, the idea felt uncomfortable. How could I possibly trust that things would work out if I wasn’t the one making them happen? But once I started letting go and embracing flow, my life began transforming in ways I never imagined.
Things I had struggled to achieve for years started falling into place effortlessly. Money appeared when I needed it. Opportunities showed up at the perfect time. The right people entered my life, and the wrong ones drifted away. It was as if the universe had been waiting for me to stop forcing and start allowing.
In this blog, I’ll share how I shifted from control to trust and how you can do the same to invite more ease, abundance, and alignment into your life.
Step 1: Understanding the Illusion of Control
The biggest realization I had was that control is an illusion. No matter how much I planned, worried, or tried to manipulate outcomes, life always had its own timeline.
Neville Goddard teaches that we don’t need to force things to happen; we need to assume they already have. Instead of anxiously trying to make things work, I started focusing on the feeling of already having what I desired.
Exercise: Releasing Control Through Awareness
💡 Take a moment to reflect: What areas of your life are you holding onto too tightly? Where do you feel the most resistance? Write these down and ask yourself: What would happen if I simply trusted that things would work out?
Step 2: Shifting from Force to Flow
The turning point for me was realizing that flow doesn’t mean inaction—it means inspired action. When I tried to force things, I was acting out of fear. But when I trusted, my actions were guided by intuition and alignment.
Once I stopped forcing, things started happening effortlessly:
- The money I needed came through unexpected sources.
- Opportunities appeared just as I was ready for them.
- I met the right people when I wasn’t even looking.
How to Step into Flow:
- Detach from the “How” – Stop trying to control how things will happen and focus on what you want.
- Follow What Feels Light – If something feels like a struggle, step back and trust there’s an easier way.
- Watch for Signs – The universe is always guiding you through signs, nudges, and synchronicities. Pay attention.
Step 3: The Power of Surrender
One of the hardest but most liberating things I learned was that surrender doesn’t mean giving up—it means making space for something better.
When I was forcing things, I was unknowingly blocking what was meant for me. The moment I surrendered, life started flowing in my favor.
How to Practice Surrender:
- Affirm: “I trust that everything is unfolding perfectly for me.”
- Let go of timelines – Stop stressing about when things will happen. They will happen at the right time.
- Trust that delays are redirections – If something isn’t happening now, it’s because something better is coming.

Step 4: Embracing the Unknown
The unknown used to terrify me. I disliked not knowing what was next. But I realized that uncertainty isn’t a problem—it’s where all possibilities exist.
Instead of fearing the unknown, I started seeing it as exciting. If I didn’t know what was next, that meant anything could happen—including something even better than I imagined.
How to Make Peace with the Unknown:
- Reframe uncertainty as opportunity – Instead of seeing it as scary, see it as a blank slate.
- Stay present – The more you focus on the now, the less you worry about the future.
- Remind yourself of past miracles – Think of all the times things worked out unexpectedly. That’s proof the universe has your back.
Step 5: Trusting That What’s Meant for You Will Find You
Once I truly let go and trusted, I started seeing proof everywhere. Things didn’t just happen—they happened in ways that felt effortless, aligned, and almost magical.
- Money I needed showed up when I stopped worrying about it.
- The right opportunities came when I least expected them.
- I found peace in moments where I used to feel anxious.
Trusting the universe doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means aligning yourself with the energy of ease, letting go of fear, and believing that what’s meant for you is already on its way.

Final Thoughts: The Universe Has Your Back
If you take one thing from this, let it be this: You don’t have to control everything. You just have to trust.
When you stop resisting, when you let go of fear, when you believe that things are working out for you—even when you can’t see it yet—that’s when the magic happens.
I spent years trying to control my life, only to realize that life was always trying to guide me. The moment I let go, I finally stepped into the flow of abundance, peace, and alignment.
And so can you.
