What would happen if Artemis’ launch velocity was 0.1% larger than it should be?

For Artemis II, the spacecraft is launched at about 10.8 kms⁻¹ to follow a free-return trajectory past the Moon. If the launch velocity were 0.1% larger (10.81 kms⁻¹), the spacecraft would have greater kinetic energy. It could potentially pass outside the planned lunar flyby and return along a longer trajectory, possibly taking a month to return. In practice, small in-flight correction burns can adjust the path to keep the mission on course.
