When it comes to getting fitter, stronger, and more confident in your body, how you move is just as important as what you do. That’s where Groovelates shines. It’s not just Pilates. It’s not just dance. It’s a feel-good fusion of functional movement, core conditioning, and disco-powered joy that gets results—and keeps people coming back!
But what makes a Groovelates class truly flow? What gives it that signature mix of tone, energy, and release? Here’s how we structure every session to make sure our participants leave feeling strong, uplifted, and smiling from head to toe.
1. Start Standing: Grounded & Groovy
Every Groovelates session kicks off standing. We focus on functional core work, balance challenges, and full-body activation—all set to an irresistible disco beat.
Expect tracks that tone those legs and glutes with low-impact but high-energy sequences, blending the best of Pilates precision with a touch of retro flair. Think squats, standing ab work, and dynamic balance drills that feel more like dancing than training.
Why it works:
This format gets the heart rate up gently, engages the core from the start, and sets a fun, inclusive tone. It's also brilliant for warming up joints and building confidence before heading down to the mat.
2. Take it to the Floor: Core, Glutes & Spine
Once we’re warmed up and moving, we transition to the floor for targeted core training. This is where the classic Pilates elements shine.
We focus on:
- Abs that work with control, not crunches
- Glutes and hips for strength and support
- Back extensions to counter daily slouching and desk-bound posture
Each move is cued with care and set to empowering tracks that keep the rhythm alive, even on the mat.
Why it works:
This floorwork builds deep, functional strength without strain. It’s low-impact and accessible, but still delivers results where it counts. Plus, the disco soundtrack keeps the energy high and the vibe positive.
3. End with Ease: Stretch, Release & Shine
No class is complete without a final sequence of soothing stretches, breath-led release work, and a well-earned moment to let go.
By this stage, muscles are warm, minds are calmer, and bodies are ready to unwind. Expect hip openers, spinal mobility, hamstring stretches, and breath-led relaxation set to mellow, soulful disco vibes.
Why it works:
Ending with mindful movement and lengthening helps reduce post-workout soreness and leaves participants feeling taller, freer, and more connected. It’s also a chance to celebrate your body and the joy of moving in it.
