Quick, savory Halloween mummies are made from thick pretzel sticks wrapped in white licorice strips. With edible eyes or chocolate decorations, these simple snacks look like little mummies and are perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients:
- 10 thick salt sticks
- 10 white liquorice laces candy
- For decoration:
- 20 edible candy eyeball sprinkles, or
- Black and white melted chocolate
Preparation:
1. Wrap each salty stick with a white liquorice lace so that the lace goes diagonally and there are small gaps between them.
2. Leave a small part of the sticks uncovered at the bottom, so that the mummy can be easily held. Cut liquorice lace at the end so you can attach it to salty stick at the bottom.
3. Leave a small part of the sticks uncovered near the top of the other end of the sticks so you can make the mummy's eyes.

4a. If you use edible candy eyeball sprinkles
On the front of each mummy, in the uncovered part, place two tiny edible eyes. You can fix them with a little bit of melted white chocolate. Lightly press with a finger and leave to set.
4b. If you use chocolates
Melt the white chocolate and squeeze out small dots on the baking paper. Then put another piece of baking paper over them and press very lightly with your finger or a flat object to flatten the chocolate into regular circles. Leave to set completely. Remove the top paper. Place a small black dot of melted dark chocolate on each white dot. Leave to set. Glue the eyes of the mummy with melted white chocolate to the stick. Place a very small dot of melted white chocolate on the place where the eye goes, place the flat chocolate eye and press gently for a few seconds. Then let the chocolate harden.
5. Arrange the mummies on a plate and serve.
