Crispy puff pastry filled with mozzarella, Gruyere cheese, ham and fresh chives, shaped into an elegant holiday wreath. Sesame seeds on top give extra crunch, while during baking the cheeses melt nicely and connect with the han. It's great for Christmas serving because it looks wonderful and it's quick and easy to prepare.

Preparation time: 1 hour.
Cooling time: 10 - 15 minutes.
Total time: 1 h 10 - 1 h 15 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of puff pastry (about 300 g)
- 125 g of mozzarella cheese
- 80 g Gruyere cheese
- 120 g ham (in leaves, thin slices)
- 2 tablespoons of fresh chives (finely chopped)
For the coating:
- 1 egg yolk
For sprinkling:
- sesame
Preparation:
- Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle.
- Grate the mozzarella over the dough, but leave an empty part 1.5 cm (0.60 inches) wide along one long edge. Leave the empty part on one side only.
- Grate Gruyere cheese over the mozzarella.
- Arrange the ham leaves, slightly crumpled, over the cheese.
- Sprinkle with finely chopped fresh chives.
- Roll the dough starting from the opposite longer edge, towards the side where an empty part of 1.5 cm (0.60 inches) is left.
- Near the end, coat the empty part of the dough with beaten egg yolk.
- Roll to the end and press the joint so that the dough sticks. Place the “glued” side down.
- With a sharp knife, cut the roll into rings about 1.5 cm (0.60 inches) wide, but do not cut all the way through. The roll should stay connected at the bottom.
- Transfer the roll to a baking tray lined with baking paper and carefully form a circle, i.e. a wreath.
- Coat the entire wreath with the remaining beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C (374 °F) for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and nicely baked.
