Bernard Smalls is a corporate trainer and a consulting resource with The Ken Blanchard Companies, a global learning organization. He is a specialist in situational/servant leadership, raving fan customer service, improving sales performance and culture of excellence strategies. Bernard has functioned as a corporate trainer, presenter and as a consulting resource for over 25 years. Mr. Smalls had a key role in developing the Servant Leadership model, working personally with Dr. Ken Blanchard, author of The One Minute Manager.


In a previous career, Bernard was a professional drummer. After a potentially lucrative deal with Motown fell through, he began to pursue personal growth, success motivation and full-potential studies, having read over 1000 self-help books. 


Bernard has studied business at American Intercontinental University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology through the Interfaith Theological Seminary. He is the founder the HuMax Consulting Group, a training resource that brings timeless solutions to organizations and businesses through proven principles. As a Southeast Toyota corporate trainer, Mr. Smalls helped make Toyota history as he trained the employees of the first Toyota franchise to win every excellence award (10) offered by Toyota Motors Corporation in the first year of business. Bernard is the author of “Thank God It's Sunday” – The Gospel of Customer Service, which has been endorsed by business experts, Dr. Ken Blanchard, billionaire Dr. Peter J. Daniels, and Dottie Walters author of Speak and Grow Rich. Bernard is affectionately known as the Gungho Guru.
