Episode 1 - Money Matters

Six months into their new venture running a boarding house, James Twelvetrees had to come to the unhappy conclusion that the business was on its knees; of the Nine bedrooms, a total of only two or three had been slept in during that time and money had just about run out. Whilst Ivy Teasdale, his business partner happily went about her side of keeping the house clean and tidy, James had trawled through the accounts and could see that all their money had gone and if the local bank didn't feel inclined to lend them £50 to tide them over until, things picked up over the summer season then they would have to pack up and go their separate ways. Will the bank lend the money or will something turn up...? And another thing....an unexpected visitor arrives....

Episode 2 - The Trouble with Theatricals.

James Twelvetrees did not like theatricals which is why he was not happy when Ivy booked an entire troupe of them into Whispering Palms; Yes, Ivy's quick thinking

had saved the business but at what cost to James’ well-being?

Episode 3 - James' Turmoil.

Files all over the place, drawers open all higgledy-piggledy - BURGLERS!! Or is it just that James has been walking in his sleep? Ivy knows the answer and decides it's time for James to unburden himself to her although what he has to tell her isn't what she expected....

Episode 4 - Henry Livingstone, I Presume?

A small, dumpy lad in thick spectacles stands at the ticket office at Liverpool Street Station. He says that he is on his way to America to seek his fortune, but before he goes he needs to say his goodbyes to Ivy. Will she be pleased to see him? More to the point, will James be pleased to see him? Finally, will he actually get to America?

Episode 5 - The Government Inspector

A gentleman dressed in a smart three piece pinstripe suit, a bowler hat upon his head with a flower in his buttonhole and carrying a rolled umbrella saying that he is from Whitehall and wishes to stay at Whispering Palms is music to James' ears and sends him into overdrive as he welcomes the distinguished guest - who knows where it might lead? Yes, who knows...

Episode 6 - Tea for Two

James harbours the wish that one day he might become a counsellor in Seabourne but there is a fly in the ointment, the locals prefer their representatives to be married. As luck would have it, however, as he is being told this, Ivy is answering the front door at Whispering Palms and who should be standing on the doorstep but the woman that James has dreamt of for many a year - and by the looks of her wardrobe, she looks like she's staying....
