Legacy Spotlight: Jameela Hill

Founder of Jijivisha Holistic & Creator of Light The Mic

Some people survive life.

Jameela Hill chose to live it.. loudly, intentionally, and with purpose.

The creator of Jijivisha Holistic and the force behind Light The Mic, Jameela’s journey is more than a story—it’s a movement rooted in rebirth, resistance, and radical self-awareness.

💗 THE ROOT: A MISSION BORN FROM SURVIVAL

After surviving a stroke at 30, battling depression, and navigating burnout, Jameela turned pain into purpose. Her brand, Jijivisha, is a Sanskrit word meaning “the desire to live and keep living.” That phrase is no accident—it’s the heartbeat of her mission.

Whether guiding others through trauma-informed yoga, Purpose-Filled Pause™ rest coaching, or curated creative workshops, Jameela’s work centers around one sacred truth:

We all deserve to stay. To breathe. To be.

Her spark? Her daughter.

“When I was struggling with suicidal thoughts… the only clear reason I had to stay was her. That clarity became a seed—and eventually, a full-on system of care, connection, and cultural grounding.”

💫 PIVOTAL MOMENTS: THE STROKE THAT SHIFTED EVERYTHING

Jameela’s legacy didn’t begin with ease—it was forged in fire.

At 25, the birth of her daughter, Butter, ignited her desire to live differently. But it wasn’t until a stroke at age 30 that she truly paused and rerouted.

“It wasn’t just a health crisis—it was a spiritual reroute,” she shares.

From that moment on, she made a sacred vow:

No more hiding. No more numbing through work. No more playing small.

Instead, she chose healing and evolution:

🧘🏾 Became a 500hr certified yoga instructor

🌸 Trained as a full-spectrum doula

🎨 Completed an artist residency

💃🏾 Joined a dance team at 37

It was in this period of radical self-honesty that the Purpose-Filled Pause™ system was born, a blueprint for healing that honors rest, creativity, and community care.

👁️ THE VISION: PRESENCE OVER PERFECTION

What does Jameela hope people feel in her presence?

“Safe. Seen. Sparked.”

She’s not here to fix people—she’s here to hold space so they can remember their own power.

Through both digital platforms and in-person experiences, Jameela is building a legacy of rest, ritual, and realness. Her dream is a world where:

• Healing is possible

• Rest is non-negotiable

• Art is sacred

• Joy doesn’t require perfection

🌱 LEGACY, DEFINED

For Jameela, legacy isn’t just about what you achieve.

It’s about what you leave behind that helps others grow.

“Legacy is what lives in the atmosphere after you’re gone…

the systems you leave behind to make care, creativity, or clarity easier for the next person.”

Her life’s work is living proof: honest reflection, brave rest, safe community, and joy are not just ideals—they’re essential practices.

🗣️ IF YOU REMEMBER ONE THING…

“You don’t have to be fully healed to start creating beauty.

You don’t have to feel fearless to be brave.

You just have to stay, stay curious, stay open, stay here.

Do That Shit Scared.

This is the unapologetic truth Jameela lives and teaches daily.
