Grief and Grow: Turning Loss into Legacy

Grief has a way of breaking us open and in that breaking, we often uncover truths we didn’t know we were ready to face. It’s not a straight path or a clean wound. Some days feel like healing, others feel like reopening. But what if growth isn’t about moving past grief, but growing with it?

This week, I’ve been sitting with that question.

When we lose someone we love deeply, the world doesn’t stop but something within us shifts forever. The pain of loss is real. The memories, the “what ifs,” the moments that never got to happen and they all linger. But so does the love. So does the wisdom they poured into us. And so does the opportunity to honor them by how we choose to live.

Growth doesn’t mean forgetting, it means carrying.

Carrying their lessons.

Carrying their strength.

Carrying their spirit in how we show up, serve, and love.

Grief teaches us what matters. It strips away the noise and forces us to look inward. It humbles us, but it also awakens something powerful: purpose.

La’Heart Desires was born from grief but it is growing from love. My father’s legacy fuels every word, every step, and every dream I chase. And in sharing this journey, I hope you feel empowered to do the same with your own story.

Whatever you’re grieving, someone, something, or even a version of yourself, know that growth is still possible. Not in spite of your grief, but because of it.

Let this be the week you lean in. Feel what you need to feel. Honor what you’ve lost. And choose to grow anyway.

Because healing isn’t about erasing the pain, it’s about building something beautiful with it.

Grieve. Grow. Repeat
