When a Mission Grows Beyond the Story That Started It

When I first began building La’Heart Desires, I was standing in the middle of one of the most difficult seasons of my life.

I was grieving.

I was searching.

I was trying to understand how to keep moving forward after losing my father.

At the time, I didn’t start this work because I had a perfectly clear plan or some polished vision of a business. I started because I needed a place to process, reflect, and find my footing again.

La’Heart Desires became that space.

Many of the reflections, thoughts, and ideas that came through this platform were born out of a very real place of pain, confusion, and ultimately healing. In many ways, it became a mirror of my own journey as I worked to move from anger and sadness toward understanding and acceptance.

And for a long time, that was exactly what it needed to be.

But life has seasons.

There are seasons where we are simply trying to survive.

There are seasons where we are learning.

And then there are seasons where something inside of us begins to mature.

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the journey that led me here, and I’ve realized something important:

The mission of La’Heart Desires hasn’t changed.

But it is growing.

In the beginning, much of the work here centered around my personal journey through grief and healing. That chapter was necessary. It helped me process experiences that shaped who I am today.

But as time has passed, something subtle has shifted.

The focus is no longer just about my story.

It’s about the stories we all carry.

Every person you meet is living through chapters of their own life that are filled with lessons, struggles, triumphs, and meaning. Yet many of us move through those experiences without ever taking the time to reflect on them, understand them, or share them.

Our stories remain unspoken.

Our lessons remain hidden.

Our voices remain quiet.

What I’m beginning to realize is that La’Heart Desires was never meant to stop at my own journey.

My story was simply the foundation.

The deeper purpose has always been about something bigger: creating a space where people can gain clarity about their lives, reflect on their experiences, and honor the stories that have shaped them.

Because when you think about it, our stories are some of the most powerful things we possess.

They hold the moments that changed us.

The lessons that strengthened us.

The struggles that refined us.

The victories that reminded us who we are.

When those stories are shared, something beautiful happens.

People realize they are not alone.

They find inspiration in someone else’s resilience.

They discover wisdom in someone else’s journey.

They see pieces of their own lives reflected back to them.

That’s where connection begins.

And connection is where growth lives.

So as I continue building La’Heart Desires, I’m stepping into a new chapter of the mission. Not a reinvention. Not a pivot.

A maturation.

A quiet evolution from simply sharing my own reflections to helping others explore and honor their stories as well.

This next chapter will be about deeper conversations.

About listening more closely to the lives and experiences of others.

About helping people uncover meaning in the chapters they’ve lived through.

Because every life contains wisdom.

Sometimes we just need the space and the right questions to see it.

La’Heart Desires will always carry the heart of where it began. My father’s legacy, the lessons learned through loss, and the growth that came from walking through difficult seasons will always be part of its roots.

But roots are meant to support growth.

And growth is what allows something to become bigger than where it started.

So if you’ve been following this journey, know that something meaningful is unfolding here.

Something quieter, deeper, and more intentional.

This next chapter will focus on conversations, reflection, and the stories that shape who we become.

Because in the end, every life is a story worth understanding.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for ourselves and for others, is simply take the time to listen.

This is only the beginning of what’s next!
