About Sandy

Welcome!

I am Sandy Jahmi Burg.

I am a parent, author, educational consultant, and curriculum creator dedicated to making emotional literacy, interoception, and relational skills accessible to classrooms and communities worldwide.

As the creator of the Smartview Stories™ children’s book project and its extensive companion Facilitator Guides, I cross Eugene Gendlin’s Philosophy of the Implicit with emerging relational neuroscience. I design structured, practical, and highly scalable educational tools that teachers, parents, and therapists can use to actively empower neuroplasticity—the brain’s natural capacity to grow and evolve in response to life experiences.

To back this curriculum design, I bring a unique dual background. I began with 25 years of experience in hospital laboratories as a clinical Medical Technologist. In this scenario, people rely on experts outside of themselves. With my credentials as a Certified Focusing Coordinator—the highest level of achievement at The International Focusing Institute, people learn to resonate truth within themselves.

Through our platform, Learn Focusing, I build comprehensive instructional frameworks and train an international community of professionals to introduce these vital self-empowerment skills to individuals, groups, school systems, businesses, and caregiving organizations globally. We work together to make these valuable life skills accessible to all who find us.

Core Expertise:

• Authoring & Educational Curriculum Development

• Instructional Design, E-Learning Content & Facilitator Guides

• Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) & Interoception Assets

• Relational Neuroscience Education & Nervous System Regulation

• Advanced Focusing Professional Mentorship & TIFI Certification

After a long career as an Executive in the U.S. Federal Reserve, I devote myself to projects using Focusing in coaching, strategic planning, performance effectiveness & more. Focusing helps bring compassion, creativity, innovation, and intuition to living.

I am a certified Interactive Focusing Professional and Interactive Focusing Teacher, passionate about bringing Focusing to Schools and Educators.

I enjoy creating online courses to support Learn Focusing with our Focusing Belongs in Schools initiative. My favorites are those where we work together as a team, applying Interactive Focusing skills as we co-create.

In addition, I facilitate our Exploring Interaction Changes meetings, teach TAE (Thinking at the Edge) in our Creating Space Part 4, and bring Interactive Focusing to our Learning Community.

About Giselle

Focusing for me is about integration and healing. We live in a body that changes with the world and holds all the meaning of the past. It yearns and strives for harmonious wholeness and integration. When we are in the presence of this through our felt sense we discover fresh meaning and reconnect to our life forward movement. An integrative healing experience.

I am curious about this process in the context of trauma. With a social work background in trauma I have found my living forward movement as a somatic neuro-psychotherapist. I want to understand how the body, mind and heart in its living world survives and heals after trauma. I am interested in the intersections between body sensory presence, brain integration and healing.

I’m in the ever evolving process of refining models and frameworks that guide my work with those on a healing journey, as well as my own. My edge and what is freshly alive is applying these to the uniqueness of individuals in the context of a living community striving for wholeness and integration. In my work this comes in the form of psychotherapeutic group work, with the goal of creating a safer world through individual regulation and integration.

Through focusing I have found deep inner relational connection, whole body integrative healing and spiritual embodiment. I am grateful to my whole being for this. I hope that our paths may cross so we can learn and grow from each other's presence and growing edge. You can contact me HERE
