Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

MM CodeLab ("we", "our store") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you visit our website or store, or buy our ebooks through the Payhip platform.

1. Who is the data controller

The controller of your personal data is MM CodeLab.

Contact: mmcodelab@gmail.com

2. What data we collect

When you buy one of our ebooks through Payhip, we may collect:

  • Identification and contact data: name and email address.
  • Billing data: billing address (when provided).
  • Payment data: payment is processed directly by Payhip and by the payment processor you choose at checkout. We never receive or store your card details — these are managed exclusively by Payhip and its payment processors.
  • Technical/automatic data: IP address, browser type and cookie information, collected automatically by Payhip during the checkout process.
  • Communications: if you contact us by email for support, we keep that correspondence so that we can reply to you.

When you visit our website or store, we may also collect:

  • Newsletter data: if you subscribe through the form on our store, your email address, so that we can send you news about new ebooks and free resources.
  • Website usage data: on our website, we count page visits and clicks on buttons (for example, downloading the free sample or clicking through to the store) using Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal data such as your name or email address.

3. What we use your data for

We use your personal data to:

  • Process and deliver your purchase (giving you access to download the ebook);
  • Provide customer support;
  • Comply with legal and tax obligations;
  • Prevent fraud;
  • Understand how many people visit our website and use its buttons, so that we can improve it;
  • Send you marketing communications, only if you have given explicit consent (for example, by subscribing to a newsletter).

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of:

  • Performance of a contract — to process your order and deliver the product you purchased;
  • Legitimate interest — to prevent fraud, improve our service and understand how our website is used (through aggregated, cookie-free statistics), without harming your rights and freedoms;
  • Consent — only for sending marketing communications; you may withdraw it at any time.

5. Who we share your data with

Your data is shared with:

  • Payhip — the platform that processes sales, payments and the delivery of ebooks, acting as our data processor;
  • Payment processors chosen by you at checkout, which handle payment data directly;
  • Email marketing tools, only if and when you subscribe to our newsletter;
  • Umami — our website analytics provider;
  • GitHub — which hosts our website (GitHub Pages);
  • Public authorities, when required by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for third-party marketing purposes.

6. International data transfers

Payhip is a company registered in the United Kingdom, so your data may be transferred to and stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In these cases, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission) are applied to ensure a level of protection equivalent to that of the GDPR. Our website hosting and analytics providers may also process data outside the EEA, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

7. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including legal, tax and accounting obligations, or until you request the deletion of your data (where applicable).

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request the rectification of incorrect or incomplete data;
  • Request the erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Request the restriction of processing;
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • Request the portability of your data;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before);
  • Lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in the country where you live or work (a list of EU authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office), or with the CNPD — Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, the Portuguese data protection authority (www.cnpd.pt).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mmcodelab@gmail.com

9. Website analytics and hosting

Our landing page is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may process technical data, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the site, in accordance with its own privacy policy. Our website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. Visit statistics are collected with Umami, as described in section 2. We do not use cookies for analytics on our website.

10. Cookies

The Payhip platform uses cookies during the checkout process to ensure the site works and to improve the shopping experience. For more information, see Payhip's cookie policy.

11. Minors

Our products are not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you become aware that a minor has given us personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

12. Data security

We adopt appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. Please note that payment data never passes through our systems: it is managed directly by Payhip and its certified payment processors.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We recommend that you review it regularly. Significant changes will be communicated through our website or by email.
