Margo M. Maes, CSE
I (she/her) am a middle-aged, bisexual, disabled, quirky, queer, kinky, cisgender woman living and creating on Choctaw and Chitimacha land, aka New Orleans, LA, with the spouse of my dreams and our many beloved pets.
I am an AASECT-Certified Sexuality Educator, an AASECT Individual CE Provider, an ISEE-Certified Holistic Sexuality Educator, and a sex coach. My work is rooted in evidence-based research and enriched by personal experience. For over 20 years, I have navigated the complexities of chronic pain, illness, disability, and Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD). I know firsthand how these conditions can reshape intimacy, sexuality, and desire, and how difficult it can be to keep sexuality alive while living with chronic illness.
This lived experience inspired me to become a certified sexuality educator and sex coach. I combine professional education with the wisdom I’ve gained from living with these conditions, offering practical tools, trusted resources, and empathetic guidance that are often missing from conversations about sexuality and chronic illness. I specialize in supporting individuals affected by chronic pain and PSSD, as well as their partners, caregivers, and lovers.
Through my teaching and coaching, I aim to challenge assumptions about what sexuality “should” look like for those living with chronic illness, pain, disability, or sexual dysfunction. I provide comprehensive, holistic sexuality education for both patients and their lovers/caregivers—offering personalized guidance, practical strategies, and support that honor the complexity of each person’s experience. My goal is to help you reclaim intimacy, pleasure, and connection on your own terms, and to empower you to create a sexual life that works for YOU.
