I am Marie McKenzie, Trauma-Informed Nurse Educator and Author

My work exists at the intersection of lived experience and clinical expertise. After years in emergency care, I saw firsthand how often survivors encountered systems that were unprepared, misinformed, or unintentionally harmful. I also know what it means to sit on the other side of care.

Through the International Sexual Assault Coaching Institute, I create trauma-informed education, books, courses, and training that center survivors and equip professionals to respond with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Every resource here is grounded in dignity, choice, and survivor-centered care—because how we respond matters.
