About Me
Life has been good! I’ve seen the Northern Lights and the Southern Cross, I’ve driven over Wolf Creek Pass on icy roads in January, I’ve been stuck in quicksand in Panama, spoken before a press conference in Washington, D.C. and found arrowheads in Ft. Sumner, NM. I’ve crossed the Atlantic in a fierce January storm and listened to a grandmother's stories as we walked in the piney woods of Mississippi while singing old Baptist hymns. I’ve been thrown into a lake in South Dakota and told to swim and snowed in for three days in Wyoming. I’ve danced to a conjunto band in San Antonio, I’ve sailed into New York harbor and was awed by the Statue of Liberty. I’ve walked the Cherokee Trail, through Buddhist temples in Thailand and castles in Bavaria. My designs have appeared in the Dallas Apparel Mart, and at Sac’s Fifth Avenue. I dined at the Haus Der Kunst in Munich, on the beach at Playa Coronado, crossed the Atlantic in a ship and the Pacific in a plane and been stranded in Hong Kong. I’ve sipped sherry in fancy dress and lived in a converted milk plant. I’ve walked the barrios in San Antonio to register voters, managed a recycling site, sung in choirs, hung sheetrock, and won the blue ribbon for a beaded leather dress. I’ve touched 300 year old documents in Barbados, archived 100 year old images of the construction of the Medina Dam in Texas, paddled the Pecos, and rafted the Usumacinta. My hair has naturally been blond, dark brown and now silvery grey; from time to time Loreal Preference turned it red. I've been a kept woman and earned my own living. Yes!
