I’m Patriena Modeste, the founder of Modest Scentsations and The Reset Hub but before I became an entrepreneur, I was simply a woman trying to find moments of peace in the middle of a very full life.

After spending 11 years in the corporate financial sector, while balancing family, responsibilities, faith, and the many demands of everyday life, I discovered something unexpectedly simple: creating candles gave me a place to breathe.

There was something about choosing a fragrance, melting the wax, creating something with my hands, and watching it come together that allowed me to slow down. What began as a personal form of calm eventually became Modest Scentsations.

More Than a Candle

Founded in 2020, Modest Scentsations has grown from a handcrafted candle company into a scent and wellness brand built around one powerful idea:

You deserve to make space for yourself.

Through our candles, room sprays, diffusers, scent experiences, workshops, corporate wellness sessions, and community initiatives, we use scent and creativity to create moments where people can pause, reconnect, and simply be.

But as the brand grew, I realised that sometimes people need more than something beautiful to take home.

They need somewhere to go.

Somewhere they can put down the weight they've been carrying even if only for a little while.

And That Became The Reset Hub

The Reset Hub is the physical expression of the heart behind Modest Scentsations.

It is a creative wellness space where scent, colouring, journaling, candle making, conversation, faith, and intentional rest come together.

It isn't a traditional spa.

It isn't simply an event space.

And it isn't just a candle studio.

It is a place to pause.

A place where women, families, young people, teams, and communities can step away from the noise, breathe, create, reflect, and reconnect.

Because I believe that wellness isn't only about what we do when we're already exhausted.

It's also about learning to recognise when we need to pause before we get there.

My Why

My work is deeply rooted in faith, family, creativity, and service.

I believe purpose doesn't always arrive as a grand idea. Sometimes it grows from the very thing you needed yourself.

For me, that was a moment to breathe.

A candle became that moment.

That moment became a business.

And that business became a space where I could help create those moments for others.

Today, my vision is bigger than candles.

I want to help create a culture where rest isn't seen as laziness, pausing isn't seen as weakness, and taking care of yourself isn't something you have to earn.

Through Modest Scentsations and The Reset Hub, I'm building a Caribbean wellness experience that brings people back to what matters:

Pause. Inhale. Exhale. Reset.

Because sometimes, you don't need to have everything figured out.

You just need permission to begin again.
