About Liz
Liz Austin is an educator, writer, bird communication researcher, and nature experience designer with more than 20 years of experience in communication and adult education.
Her professional background includes leading communication and educational initiatives for Disney, the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and University College London. She holds an MA in Linguistics and Adult Education and a BA in Music, with certifications in Mindfulness and Meditation.
She grew up in the Midwest surrounded by conservation areas and nature education. Her dad was an editor of National Wildlife magazine, her mom was a Master Gardener, and birds have been part of her life for as long as she can remember. Her work brings together careful research, engaging storytelling, and thoughtful opportunities for conversation and connection.
Through Nature by Liz and Tails Talk Birds she creates prepared-for-you programs that make it easier for organizations to bring meaningful nature experiences to communities of all ages and sizes.
