Hi, I’m Michelle! I’m the owner of Peak Health Billing LLC and the creator behind Peak Billing Academy.

My medical billing career started more than 25 years ago, while I was still in high school—back when patient ledgers were kept on paper and insurance claims were typed and mailed. Since then, I’ve worked my way through nearly every side of the revenue cycle, from front desk and insurance verification to billing, coding, claims, denials, A/R, credentialing, and full revenue cycle management.

Today, I own and operate my own medical billing company, working directly with healthcare practices and handling the same real-world billing challenges I teach about.

I created Peak Billing Academy because I wanted to take what I’ve learned over the years and turn it into practical, easy-to-understand resources for people interested in medical billing and those who are just beginning their careers.

I believe you can learn a lot from a textbook—but some of the most valuable lessons in medical billing come from actually doing the work, asking questions, investigating problems, and following an account all the way through to resolution.

And no matter how technical billing becomes, I never want to lose sight of one thing:
