Porthleven: A spectacular Cornish coastal town full of character!
Porthleven, near Helston in Cornwall, is the most southerly working port in the UK and a stunning coastal town and fishing port. It boasts a historic harbour, characterful coastal cottages housing its 3000 population, and inspiring walks along the South West Coast Path. I share here a curated collection as royalty-free stock photos of Porthleven.
I hope you enjoy these traditional West Cornwall scenes and landscapes. Stock photos include the iconic clocktower, harbourside views, dramatic skies over the beach, and panoramic views across the Cornish coast and lush countryside by Beacon Crag. My personal favourite is the dramatic sunset image looking across Porthleven beach to the clock tower, which I grabbed in (typically English!) changeable weather. What’s yours?
Images were taken in an early Summer visit to the town. You can also see my full Porthleven photo album on Facebook for more photos, including bonus ones that didn’t make the cut here; feel free to get in touch if there’s any you’d like to purchase, and I’ll email them over.
If ever in the area, I can thoroughly recommend the Harbour View Café for a hearty breakfast, good value food and accommodating for different dietary requirements; just watch out for those pesky seagulls!
Here’s more about Porthleven if you’re wanting to visit, detailing the attractions, beaches, food festivals, and more.
Please be aware that the Photon Photography watermark visible on the preview images will not be present in the images you download.
Porthleven From the Air...
For an overview of this beautiful town, check out the below short video courtesy of ‘The Cornish Coast’ on YouTube. This drone footage covers the various locations I photographed, including the harbour itself, coast path and fields to the west, the iconic 70ft Porthleven Bickford-Smith Institute clock tower (often featured in BBC weather reports), and the sandy Porthleven beach.
