Hi, I'm Jeff Butler, Editor/Publisher of Plugboats, the international journal of electric boats and boating. There is a more full description of how I came to write the Plugboats Primer in the Primer itself, but I wrote it in response to the hundreds of questions I get from the Plugboats website from people wanting to know more about electric boats – but don't want a lot of technical jargon.

I have spent many years (too many!) writing advertising for hundreds of clients, and winning a bunch of international awards on the way.

A good thing about that experience is that you need to understand a lot of technical details about your client's product and then tell the reader about it in an accessible way.

There is no advertising in the Plugboats Primer, I have tried to make it as unbiased as possible, but I have used my experience to make sure it is easy to read and the information is easily understood.
