About Me
I graduated from the jazz department of the Prins Claus Conservatory in the Netherlands, Vilnius College and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In addition to jazz-oriented music with small, medium sized ensembles, and big bands, I have experience with chamber orchestras, choirs and composers of contemporary classical music.
As a band leader I have released two CDs in the Netherlands (Centrifuge is available on Spotify) and one in Lithuania.
In recent years I have been writing music for larger ensembles (big band, chamber orchestra) and for my project "Broken Glass 4tet", which includes tuba, trombone and drums. We released a quartet album called Solitude in 2022 (available on Spotify).
Since 2014 I have been a member of the contemporary music ensemble "Synaesthesis" (not anymore) and a sideman in various Lithuanian jazz-oriented projects such as "Reinless" and "Vilnius Jjazz Ensemble". I also write some music for the latter.
In parallel with my activities as a performer, I have been a teacher at the VDU Music Academy and the Juozas Gruodis Conservatory for many years. Since 2016 I have been working as a guitar, rhythm and ensemble teacher at Vilnius College, where I am currently the head of the Rhythmic Music Department.
