Disclaimer(s) & Additional Info

I just wanted to be up front and honest about something regarding the scenepacks I offer!

While the native resolution of the original footage I use to upscale/interpolate is 1080p, what Topaz Video AI "actually" does is give the illusion of higher quality. By that, I mean that TVAI just darkens the lines it detects, to make it appear higher quality; it remains 1080p. Yes, it does remove low quality noise/grain, but it's still not perfect. And while it's not like I'm charging an egregious amount of money for these scenepacks, I still feel it's fair for those interested in said packs to be aware of this fact.

Another thing, with the frame interpolation thing, it's also not 100% perfect. You'll see some weird smear frames here and there, and I can't really prevent that unfortunately. Sometimes, when it comes to anime, the jump between movements per frame can vary substantially; which causes those smear frames. The best thing you can do to make it look better is to work around it in your edit.

Topaz Video AI "Upscale Quality" Comparison

Here's a video of how the Proteus enhancement (with manually tweaked settings) looks. You can see what I meant by how it darkens the lines it detects to make it appear higher quality, but still isn't perfect.

Yes, I know that anyone can do this for themselves for free (by totally not pirating software, which is what I definitely didn't do for TVAI). But for the ones that either don't have the fastest of pc hardware in order to best utilize TVAI, or just don't feel like going through all that nonsense (it's honestly pretty time and storage consuming), and just want ready-made clips for their edits, I take one for the team and make these packs. Quite frankly I actually enjoy doing it, because not only am I being a contributor to the editing community, I also use my own scenepacks LMAO. So it's a win-win.

I totally could give these away for free, but as I mentioned, it's time and storage consuming. And for editors, storage is sacred. So it's for that reason that I decided to charge a lil sumn sumn. I'm aware that not everyone can pay for things themselves (even if it is "just" under $3), and to those people I apologize, but it eez wot it eez.

"Special" Requests

  • My scenepacks pretty much only cater to "short form" edits, not so much the AMV-style ones. As much as I personally enjoy making AMV-style/longer edits with more variety of clips, unless I'm specifically asked to offer a higher variety scenepack by enough people, "short form" clips are all I'm going to be doing.

  • As for specific character scenepacks, I most likely wouldn't accept every request, as I only make packs of characters from series that I myself watch and enjoy. If someone asks me for a scenepack of some character way outta left field for me, chances of me accepting is extremely low, honestly. Even if they do offer me extra money.

(This doesn't really fit in this section, but it also doesn't fit in the FAQs)

  • Similar to how I don't make packs of characters I personally don't have interest in, the same goes for multi-character bundles. Although that's not always the case (me disliking a character), cause sometimes there just aren't a lot of scenes of one particular character, or those scenes aren't worthy of being an edit clip. So if you ever wonder "why do these characters get packs but so and so doesn't?", that's why.
