To be able to apply a preset, you need to move/copy the .ffx file to your User Presets folder. To get there, go to:
- Documents
- Adobe
- After Effects 20xx (eg. After Effects 2025)
- User Presets
Once you get to User Presets, you can then either just drag the file directly there, or, if you wish, you can make a folder to put the file into. If you had the program running during this process, you'll have to restart it for the preset to show up.
To get to the presets within AE, just search the name of the preset in the search bar in Effects & Presets. From there, just double click the preset onto an Adjustment Layer. Always make sure you have the appropriate plugins the preset needs, otherwise the CC won't look how it's supposed to.

The actual creation of a scenepack starts with CapCut, as AE doesn't support .mkv format, and that's the format that my RAW footage files are in. I used to use VSDC Video Editor, but I've recently come to find that the footage comes out messed up/glitchy for some reason, so I switched to CC for picking out the clips I want to be in the pack. Then I export that as .mp4 and throw it into AE for re-splitting and interpolation prep.
For upscaling and converting footage to 60fps/smooth interpolation I use Topaz Video AI.
As for "regular" video editing to showcase a pack, I use After Effects 2025.

Imma be real, it's too much of a hassle. When setting up payment stuff for Payhip, it directed me to create a business PayPal account, which I already have linked with my primary account? But it wouldn't let me link that business account, and was forcing me to make a new one. So apologies for that ✨
If you still want a scenepack, but don't want to pay via Stripe, you can pay via Ko-fi! Just let me know what scenepack you'd like, and include your Discord username (in the message box while tipping/donating), and I can share a Drive link with you! I recommend making the message "Private" so only I can see what you write. Also, just be aware that the default donation amount there is $3, which is a little more than what I charge on here for some items.
Items exempt from Ko-fi payment method: scenepack bundles derived from movies

Put simply, the reason someone would want (non-music) audio in their edit is most likely for their edit's intro. So I try to pick and choose the clips that seem "intro worthy", so dialogue can be used for said intro. Although I do keep some clips' audio for potential "mid-edit vocals", or even sfx usage. Otherwise, 95% of your clips are gonna be muted anyways, no? Plus not every clip in your edit even has dialogue in it to begin with, so why keep it unmuted?
NOTE: only the Shidou Ryusei scenepack's clips are all muted, as I decided to have some clips [from other packs] unmuted only after I had made that one
