I'm Latina Nickelson, founder of SOAR Educational Services, and I help families turn special education chaos into collaboration.

SOAR stands for Student Overcoming Academic Roadblocks. That is the whole job. Not fixing children, moving what stands in their way.

I'm a mom to 2 neurodiverse children and the grandmother of 4 (2 of whom I am raising) and a non-attorney education advocate and IEP coach with over 25 years in education. I have sat on the parent side of the table, so I built these resources to give you what I wish I'd had: plain language, real steps, and the confidence to walk into any IEP or 504 meeting prepared.

My whole approach rests on one belief: your child belongs in their classroom and community by right, not by permission. We lead with curiosity over conflict and remove the barriers already in your child's way.

Instead of telling you what to do, my role is to make sure you never feel alone in that room again.
