Beauty in pain

To feel one thing is to feel everything.

If you want to feel happiness, bliss, love, peace; you must also be open & willing to experience worry, depression, guilt, and shame.

"Everything comes at a cost" is what a friend had told me recently, and I didnt realize the gravity that sentence held with its truth. If you want to experience success you have to be willing and open to experiencing failure. If you want love, you must be open and willing to experience heartbreak.

So, why are we so scared to experience emotions, why do we numb ourselves from these emotions.

That is a big question I have been asking myself recently "why are we so scared to experience emotions". I used to numb my emotions, to a point where unintentionally I did not feel (what it felt like) any emotions.

Over the past years I have been opening up my heart to experiencing emotions and something beautiful had happened, if you missed it i will repeat it; "opening up my heart". I had been more open to what any possible emotion could bring me, how fear could bring me clarity on what my subconscious mind was hiding from me, or jealousy and how it can shine a light on my true desires.

I allowed my body, mind, spirit to be open to the messages and whispers of "dark" and "scary' emotions. Feelings and thoughts would arise in me and instead I would share compassion with these parts and alchemize it into wisdom.

My hope for anyone reading this is to have a deeper understanding that youre emotions is what makes you beautifully human, the supression of these emotions through "normal" activities such as drinking, gambling, casual sex, porn, refined sugars etc, is all created by design to drive you farther away from your intuitive abilities and connection to Higher Consciousness/God/Universe/Source, itself (you).
