What shortage? There's Baby Milk Galore!

After carefully "observing" the recent news about a baby "formula" shortage, I wondered, "What are 'they' up to now?". Then, the answer came.

Vaccines. Baby formula. Shortages. Fear. Panic. Control. That's what it's all about.

It's no coincidence that a struggling vaccine and covid-19 test manufacturer is also a leading manufacturer of baby formula. Formula. Imagine that?

Why do we call it baby formula? Why don't we just call it milk for babies or baby milk?

When did something given to women freely with each new baby born become a science and man made dependency? Thinking can be so inconvenient that even when the answer is obvious, we sometimes still need to be reminded. So here it is.

It's true. Some women feel a lot of pressure to look good post pregnancy whether self-imposed or by society standards.

Ironically, breast feeding helps women return to their normal weight faster. However, some women are married to selfish men who see her breasts as their man toys and not necessary feeding channels for their newborn babies. Grow up bud.

But if you're still struggling. It's okay. You're not alone. There are other options.

I asked my mother what she gave us as she was a slender woman in her child bearing years. She was also rather slender in the breast milk area. She is one of those who sought help at the "pump."

She told me the pediatrician gave her a recipe that simply required part evaporated milk, part water, and a smidge of karo (corn) syrup to sweeten the deal.

Yikes! I was admittedly appalled but remembered I was a fat healthy baby so no worries really. But seriously? That's it?

So then I asked myself. "What is evaporated milk"?

Turns out it's just evaporated regular cows milk. These "fancy price gouging labs" just enhance regular cow's milk with iron, protein etc. for easier digestion and better nutrition for baby. Just add boiling water and let sit to room temperature. These days, you would likely choose organic powdered milk. It's easy to find enhanced nutrients.

On the surface that sounds okay. Except for those who discern their hormone enhanced cows from organically grass fed, no hormone and no antibody cows.

In other words, you prefer carefully sourced organic milk. Today, it's pretty easy to find enhanced organic milk (including organic evaporated or powdered milk) anywhere. Seek decent grocery stores (not just big box retailers) and certainly online. And because it's evaporated organic milk, you can buy and shelve it with less concern about expiration dates compared to fresh organic milk.

They also have powdered goat milk, soy milk, and other lactose intolerant types as well. Just saying.

So it seems eager sleep deprived mothers have been paying $40 for the same $5-$15 vitamin enhanced powdered or even evaporated (organic) milk that simply requires them to add water. I don't know the recipe/portion. You'll have to look it up or ask your own elders about that for yourself. Personally, I would prob purchase an organic (Non-GMO/No Hormones) brand enhanced with Vitamin D (builds immune system), protein, calcium, iron and/or especially DHA (has Omega-3) for the brain.

Be sure to make and taste it yourself. Drink chilled for yourself, but baby will drink it room temp or warm.

Use glass bottles whenever possible. Yes, it's old school. But anytime you warm plastic in releases a gas substance.

Hey, while we're at it, why not get cloth diapers and really save the planet for their future. More savings to your wallet too. Good luck finding them though. Best brands are hard to find. I've seen women buying used cloth diapers online. Yikes! (I'm sure they washed them but uhmmm. Let's move on.)

I'm just here thinking out loud. But thinking for sure.

Maybe more elders have some real wisdom/knowledge to share. That would put an end to over- priced "lab" milk and return the responsibility to mothers, midwives, and local and organic dairy farmers. That's doable. It's also way more affordable and likely healthier too.

"The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust." Ruth 2:12

There's also plenty of powdered baby milk at smaller store chains like Aldi for less than $20. The country is still in a pandemic. Expand your options. Don't panic. You can feed your baby well and still save money.

Please note. Every woman is different. But EVERY woman is beautifully and fearfully made by GOD.

Don't just speak to your doctor (OB-GYN or Pediatrician), also consult a midwife, your mother, grand mother, auntie, nanna, bubba, neighbor etc for sound advice too. Humans have been bringing forth life for countless millennias (rich, poor, and in between). Let's not forget or negate our own built in God given powers and abilities.

Women can make baby milk. It doesn't come easy for everyone. Women can get help if needed. Ask.

We can also build our immune systems. Keep that in mind too.

Try as they might, science and technology can not replace Almighty GOD or natural born women. Always remember that.

By the way, we LOVE men here. Just reclaiming our God given natural powers. Women are not toys. Women bring life into this world. That's a pretty big deal.

Read Proverbs 31:10-31 about the virtuous woman daily. It's so empowering. Pray. Think. Love.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
