About Me

Field-verified guides for women who camp Florida on their own terms.

Solo Sojourn Project publishes practical, Florida-specific guides for solo women travelers, campers, and workampers, most of them over 50 and most of them tired of advice written for somebody else's body, budget, and rig.

Everything here comes from the same place: twelve volunteer workamping assignments across Florida State Parks, a county recreation park, and a national forest between 2013 and 2020, first with family and later alone. That experience is now paired with active research at the University of Florida into how women find, or fail to find, reliable information about public lands.

What that means for you as a reader: no recycled listicles, no numbers pulled from a press release. Agency rules are checked against the agencies. Figures are dated and sourced. Where something has not been re-verified, the page says so plainly.

Guides cover safety and wildlife, accessibility, workamping programs and what they really pay in avoided cost, and the Florida realities nobody puts in the brochure.

Every purchase is an instant PDF download. No shipping, no waiting.
