We’re happy to announce the finalisation of the VONTECH TDX27 — a bus inspired by and similar to the Van Hool TDX27 Astromega.
After around 3 years of development, including multiple breaks along the way, the project has now reached its first full release. The VONTECH TDX27 is now available for 20€ / 3000 Robux.
So… what’s next?
The current release is Version 1.0.0. As of now, the bus is a clean and simple 3D model, but this is only the beginning. We will continue expanding it over time with more features, modules, and improvements.
We already have a list of updates that are guaranteed to arrive within the coming days, weeks, and months. These include bug fixes, a skibox, trailers, and additional module options such as headlight variants, mirrors / mirrorcams, and interior improvements.
Future Plans
Alongside the planned updates, we are also working on potential special editions and services, which will be revealed in future Discord announcements once ready.
A common question is whether more VONTECH TDX or similar “TX” models are planned. As of now, there are no additional models planned. Instead, our focus is on improving and expanding the current TDX27.
One of the major upcoming steps is the introduction of different topology options. In simple terms, this means you will be able to choose how detailed the model should be. Currently, the bus sits at around 160.000 tris, and we aim to offer multiple optimized versions for different use cases. These versions, along with general updates, will be free for all existing customers.
What will cost extra?
The interior will be developed as a separate, paid addition. It will be fully created in Blender and built as a mesh, just like the exterior of the bus.
We will also aim to keep the use of Roblox’s CSG (solid modeling) as low as possible to ensure a smoother, more lag-free experience. This is also where the previously mentioned topology options will become especially important.
Final Notes
We have many more updates, systems, and scripting features planned for the VONTECH TDX27. At the same time, we want to keep everything as easy to update and maintain as possible.
Customers will receive tutorials on how to properly update their product without breaking anything, and we will continue to offer support via our Discord server. Even if the product has been modified, we will always try to help wherever possible.
This release is just the beginning — and there’s a lot more coming.
