About Anthony Evans
Anthony Evans is a digital ecosystem and Open Finance specialist with experience spanning regulatory policy, large-scale implementation and international collaboration.
He most recently supported the UK Financial Conduct Authority as an Open Finance Technical Specialist, advising on Smart Data and ecosystem development, and contributing to cross-jurisdictional initiatives including the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub's Project Aperta.
Anthony was previously at the UK's Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE), where he was responsible for ecosystem-wide non-functional testing strategy across the CMA9 banks. His work focused on performance, resilience, usability and security, helping to translate regulatory requirements into operational standards within one of the world's largest open banking implementations.
As an innovator, Anthony is also the founder of Open SusFin, an initiative applying open ecosystem principles to sustainable finance, including the coordination of distributed infrastructure, data sharing and the tokenisation of socio-economic impact measurement.
His broader experience includes advising central banks, regulators and financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions on Open Banking, Open Finance, standards and ecosystem governance. He has contributed to ecosystem development in regions including the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
Anthony's recent work focuses on how large-scale socio-technical systems are designed, governed and scaled in practice. He brings a distinctive perspective that combines regulatory insight with hands-on delivery experience, particularly in the translation of policy into testable, operational infrastructure.
He holds a PhD in the computer simulation of physiological and behavioural systems and conducted early research in artificial intelligence, providing a foundation for his work on complex adaptive systems, ecosystem governance and digital infrastructure.
He lives in Northamptonshire with his wife Carol, daughter Diana and two cats, Pumpkin and Moonie.
