Hi, I’m Allison, the owner and creator behind The Marigold, a greenhouse photography studio in North Carolina.

What started as a slightly crazy idea turned into an 800 square foot greenhouse studio that we built completely from the ground up. Along the way, I learned a lot.. what worked, what I’d do differently, where we were able to save money, and which details made the biggest difference in the finished space.

After getting so many questions about how we built The Marigold, I decided to put everything I could into one place. I created my Greenhouse Studio Build Guide to share our actual dimensions, materials, costs, floor plan, sources, progress photos, lessons learned and all the little details I wish I could have found when I was planning my own.

I’m not an architect or contractor, just a small business owner who had a big idea and figured it out along the way. My hope is that sharing our experience makes building your own dream space feel a whole lot less overwhelming.
