Sessions at The Sensory Patch are unstructured, this allows the children to explore, play and follow their own curiosity.

Hello! I’m Alex, the owner of The Sensory Patch. I have 7 years of experience working with young children, along with a Level 3 in Early Years Education and additional training in paediatric first aid and safeguarding.

I’m also a mum to two boys, although now grown up, I’ve seen firsthand how messy play inspires curious thinking, creativity, and children’s imaginations run wild.

Sensory messy play has always been a love of mine, after noticing the gap in local baby and toddler groups for messy play, I decided to create The Sensory Patch. I wanted to provide a space where children could play and learn through the exploration of messy play. Each sensory tray is thoughtfully created to support your child’s development, not just keep them busy. Every sensory station has an intention behind it.
