Sensory Session Waiver

Thank you for booking with The Sensory Patch! Before your child joins a session, please take a moment to read through the points below. This agreement applies wherever our sessions take place.

Who Our Sessions Are For

Sessions are suitable for children aged 1-4 years. A parent or carer must stay with their child throughout — we’re here to guide and set up the play, but we’re not able to take on sole supervision of your child.

While you’re with us, we’d ask that you:

Keep an eye on your child throughout the session

Step in if needed to help with their safety or behaviour

Understand that our team’s role is to facilitate the activities, not to provide childcare

What Sessions Involve

Expect plenty of hands-on, sensory-led play, things like:

Textured trays and non-toxic sensory materials

Messy, process-focused activities

Small world play and loose parts

Natural materials such as sand, water, or plants

No two sessions are quite the same, and activities are deliberately open-ended so children can explore in their own way.

Risks You Should Know About

Play like this naturally comes with a few bumps along the way. By joining a session, you’re accepting that things like the following can happen:

Slippery or wet surfaces underfoot

Contact with food-based or natural materials

Marks or stains on clothing

Small objects being handled during play

The odd trip, slip, or scrape that’s common with young children

We ask that you stay attentive to your child throughout to help manage these risks.

If Your Child Is Unwell

For everyone’s wellbeing, please keep your child home if they’ve had a temperature, sickness, diarrhoea, or a contagious rash or infection in the 48 hours before a session.

If your child seems unwell once at a session, we may ask that you take them home early. Get in touch afterwards and we’ll do what we can to help you rebook.

Allergies & Health Conditions

Because some materials used may be food-based, please let us know about any allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions when you book. We rely on this information being accurate and complete, and can’t be held responsible for a reaction linked to something we weren’t told about.

We do our best to accommodate your allergies but sometimes we are unable to accommodate your requirements.

In Case of an Accident

For minor bumps or scrapes, you as the supervising adult are primarily responsible for looking after your child, I can offer basic first-aid supplies.

If something more serious happens, you’re giving us permission to call emergency services and provide basic first aid until help arrives. You agree that myself or team acting in good faith during an emergency won’t be held liable.

Belongings & Mess

Please come prepared for a genuinely messy session! We’re not able to take responsibility for clothing, shoes, or personal items that get wet, stained, or damaged. You are responsible for keeping track of your own and your child’s belongings.

Photos & Videos

We sometimes take photos or videos during sessions to share on our website and social media. Any images we use will have faces blurred, and we never pass photos on to third parties beyond promoting The Sensory Patch.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, you agree not to hold The Sensory Patch or its staff responsible for injuries linked to the normal risks of this kind of play, for incidents linked to a lack of supervision by the accompanying adult, for reactions to undisclosed allergies, or for loss or damage to personal belongings. This doesn’t apply where there’s been proven gross negligence on our part.

Session Length

Sessions run for 60 minutes unless we’ve agreed something different with you directly.

Confirming You Agree

Booking and attending a session with The Sensory Patch means you’ve read this agreement, you’re happy with it, and you’re taking responsibility for your child’s supervision and wellbeing while you’re with us.
