is a New Orleans native who worked briefly at Xavier University in New Orleans before moving to Houston, Texas. She then worked in the Houston Independent School District for five years and later the Fort Bend Independent School District for 21 years until her retirement in June 2018. She is married to Albert M. Robinson, who is also from New Orleans, and lives in Texas. They have two sons, Wade Robinson and Albert Robinson, plus three grandchildren and two bonus grandchildren
