About Tia

Tia Ross is a published author, veteran editor, writing coach, and mentor with more than 35 years of experience helping writers develop their ideas, strengthen their manuscripts, and move meaningful projects toward completion. She has also mentored editors and other publishing professionals as they develop their craft, navigate the industry, and build sustainable careers.

As a sought-after copyeditor, Tia has worked with major trade publishers—including Simon & Schuster, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, and Penguin Random House—as well as a diverse range of businesses, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and independent authors. She is the founder and CEO of WordWiser Ink, an editorial company specializing in professional copyediting and proofreading.

Tia’s larger body of work includes founding Black Writers Collective, Black Editors & Proofreaders, and Black Book Coaches—Black-centered communities and professional resources created to address longstanding gaps in access, visibility, connection, and industry support. She has also spent more than two decades producing conferences, retreats, and other thoughtfully designed experiences for writers and creative professionals.

Through Tia Ross Studio, she brings those worlds together in candid, practical books, planners, and resources designed to help writers, editors, and other creative professionals strengthen their work, make informed decisions, and turn intention into meaningful progress.
