About Me

I’m Tom – dad, husband, dog dad, firefighter and fitness coach. Since I was 13 I’ve been obsessed with getting fitter, stronger, faster and more resilient.

25 years later and I am still obsessed with training, but now I am able to help others achieve their goals too.

After sixth form, instead of going to university, I joined the police and spent seven years working in East London – the ultimate school of life. I saw both the darkness and beauty in humanity, and my fitness was tested regularly.

I also made plenty of mistakes.

I overtrained, worked brutal shifts, drank too much and ate whatever I fancied. Eventually it caught up with me. Sickness and injuries were the norm.

In 2014 I left the police and set up a CrossFit gym in Hertfordshire with two friends.

I’d been building my coaching on days off in the police and realised how much I loved helping people train.

Over the next six years I coached a huge range of people – from executives and elite CrossFit athletes to new mums and complete beginners.

In 2019 my wife and I followed our hearts back to the mountains of my birthplace, Cumbria. I stepped away from the gym and moved my coaching online. During the chaos of lockdown in 2020, I ended up applying to join the fire service.

Today I’m still here in the mountains – coaching, serving as a firefighter and raising our son with my wife.

Modern life is busy and stressful for many of us.

After more than two decades obsessing over training, I want to share what I’ve learned to help you become stronger, healthier and more capable. In particular what I have learned about maintaining or building very high levels of fitness around brutal schedules and Dad life - without burning out.
