I'm Rich Wakeland, a proud Gen Xer, lifelong learner, healthcare professional, and the creative hands behind Lone Wolf Creations and Unfading Impressions.

My story began in the early 1990s as a volunteer EMT serving the communities of West Central Florida. Through hard work, dedication, countless long shifts, and a determination to keep learning, I became a Paramedic, Emergency Room Nurse, and eventually a master's-prepared Registered Nurse.

Today, I continue that commitment to service by caring for our nation's veterans at a regional VA hospital. It's a privilege to serve those who have given so much for our country.

From Saving Lives to Creating Memories

After more than 35 years in emergency medicine and nursing, I've witnessed humanity at its best, its worst, and just about everything in between.

One thing that career has taught me is that life is unpredictable, time is precious, and tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Creativity became my way of stepping away from the pressures of healthcare, relieving stress, and finding a little peace in a world that doesn't always make much sense.

What began as a personal escape developed into a passion for woodturning, handcrafted pens, 3D-printed vignettes, detailed miniature painting, and custom lithophane lamps that bring cherished photographs and memories to life.

Lone Wolf Creations reflects my love of craftsmanship, imagination, and creating unique pieces of art.

Unfading Impressions represents something more personal: preserving the people, pets, milestones, and memories that deserve to be remembered.

Every creation is an opportunity to transform a meaningful moment into something tangible, whether it's a tribute to a loved one, a celebration of life's milestones, or simply a piece that makes someone smile.

Sharing the Craft

I've always believed that skills and knowledge are meant to be shared.

Whether it's teaching someone to turn a piece of wood into a handcrafted pen, create a detailed 3D vignette, experiment with painting techniques, or design a custom lithophane lamp, I enjoy helping others discover what they can accomplish with patience, creativity, and a willingness to learn.

I'm still learning myself, and I don't expect that to ever stop.

A Little About My Personality

I'm unapologetically Generation X.

I believe in personal responsibility, hard work, tough love, straight talk, and a healthy dose of cynicism. I'm not particularly politically correct, and I don't see much value in sugarcoating reality.

Life's too short for pretending otherwise.

But beneath the sarcasm and sometimes questionable sense of humor is a genuine appreciation for people, their stories, and the memories they carry.

My Philosophy

You can't change yesterday.

Make the most of today.

Plan for tomorrow.

And remember, none of us knows when our ticket will be punched.

That's why I believe in creating things that matter, making memories while we can, and preserving the ones we never want to lose.
