I'm walking along this frozen river and could feel that winter is beginning to loosen its hold on the landscape. The moment became a painting.

In Early Thaw on the River, the snow-covered riverbank glows with soft blues, turquoise, and gentle whites. The first suggestions of warmer days mingle with the lingering stillness of winter, while the trees stand quietly along the river's edge.

There is a peacefulness here, a moment when nature seems to be preparing for change. The snow remains, but there really seems a promise of spring.

Early Thaw on the River is created using my self-taught contemporary pointillism style and is composed of countless layers of individually painted dots. Colours mingle and shapes emerge without hard boundaries, allowing the trees, snow, shadows, and light to become part of one connected landscape.
