Ideas on the Horizon

Ideas on the Horizon is an original pointillism painting by Canadian artist Jim Pescott, filled with colour, movement and a sense of possibility. A broad landscape of greens, yellows and pinks stretches beneath an expansive blue sky, where clouds gather and shift across the horizon.

Created entirely through layers of individually painted dots, colours mingle across the canvas rather than being separated by hard lines. From a distance they come together to form the landscape; closer up, the individual marks and colours become part of the experience of the painting.

There is something hopeful about looking toward a distant horizon — the feeling that something new may be forming just beyond what we can see. Ideas on the Horizon invites that kind of looking and perhaps a moment to imagine what might lie ahead.
