Create your own cute Fussy Cutting Needlebook using my pattern.

Choose your favourite fussy cuts and create these adorable needlebooks. With pockets to store scissors and notions, they double as a handy sewing kit when you’re on your travels.
Skill level: Confident beginner +
This is a fairly easy pattern with nothing too complicated, but you will have to be accurate and consistent with your seam allowance to get a really neat finish.
Finished size (approximately):
Small: 4'' width, 4 ½'' height
Large: 4 ¾'' width, 5 ¼'' height
You will receive, 7 pages of step-by-step instructions with helpful tips and photos. I’ve included instructions on how to sew the patchwork together using an interfacing foundation which gives you a lovely crisp finish and all your seams will match up perfectly! You can of course sew your patchwork in the usual way if you prefer (instructions included in the pattern). There is also a tutorial on how to make your own fabric stamps, which you can use to decorate your needlebook if you wish. This is a cut and measure pattern so there is no need for templates.
You will need:
- Tiny fussy cuts or colourful scraps of quilting cotton fabric for the patchwork squares.
- Essex linen or quilting cotton for the contrasting exterior fabric.
- Quilting cotton fabric for the main lining piece, the spine, the main pocket fabric and the pocket lining.
- Fusible fleece to back the main lining fabric.
- Medium-weight interfacing for the spine, the exterior back piece and the main pocket piece.
- Light-weight soft interfacing as a foundation for the patchwork (optional).
- Embroidery thread to stitch around the patchwork.
- Snap fasteners (can be plastic or metal and can be the type that comes with a punch or the sew-in variety).
Equipment and Tools:
Rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler, scissors, thread, iron, Wonder clips/binding clips, pins, trick marker/disappearing fabric pen, corner and edge shaper, seam ripper (just in case), hand-sewing needles for embroidery and stitching the seam closed, snap fastener punching tool (optional) and pinking shears (fabric stamps).
