Create your own handy Stitching Buddy using my pattern.

Keep your sewing kit together in this neat little case. With lots of useful pockets, there's plenty of room for supplies. It fits nicely in your handbag so you can carry on stitching when you're on your travels. Perfect for cross-stitch or embroidery projects! The Stitching Buddy pairs perfectly with my Fair and Square Bag pattern.
Skill level: Intermediate+
You will need experience in following patterns and should be happy applying binding, although detailed instructions are provided.
Finished size (approximately):
Folded: 7 ½'' x 8''
Unfolded: 22 ¼'' x 8''
(Will fit up to a 6 inch embroidery hoop)
You will receive, 13 pages of step by step instructions with helpful tips, diagrams, photo's and templates. I've provided printable labels so you can pin all the relevant pieces together during cutting. I've added a section on customising your case with some different ideas for the exterior, including easy scrappy patchwork or you can just make it with one single piece of your favourite fabric if patchwork isn't your thing! If you don't need the vinyl thread pockets, you can just skip this step make a plain pocket instead by following the instructions.
You will need:
- A variety of cotton printed fabrics for the patchwork exterior, pockets, tie and binding.
- Plain cotton for the lining the pockets.
- Essex linen or cotton fabric for the main lining fabric. You may decide to use Essex linen for your pockets too.
- Cotton wadding or fusible fleece to back the exterior and the flap and tab.
- Medium-weight Interfacing for the main lining fabric and pockets.
- Vinyl suitable for bag making.
- 10'' or more vinyl zip.
- Snap fasteners.
Equipment and tools:
Rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler, scissors, thread, iron, Wonder clips/binding clips, pins,
disappearing fabric pen, basting spray (optional), hand sewing needle, snap fastener punching tool
(optional), zipper foot, evenfeed/walking foot if you have one, seam ripper (just in case).
