Create your own “Zipster Pouch” using my pattern.

***** This is a PDF pattern, not a finished product*****

Skill level: Confident Beginner+

Choose cute patchwork or make a simple plain version. This super pouch comes in two sizes and has a useful extra pocket on the back. Whether you need a makeup bag, a handy project pouch or your kid needs a new pencil case this pattern's got it covered!

If your new to sewing zips, I have some tips to make the process a lot easier. You can always leave out the zip pocket out on the exterior, if you are a beginner, just until your feeling a bit more confident!

Finished size (approximately):

Small: 9'' x 4 ½''

Large: 9'' x 7 ½''

You will receive, 9 pages of step by step instructions with helpful tips and over 35 photos to illustrate the steps and techniques used. This is a measure and cut pattern although there so NO templates are needed or provided.

You will need:

- Quilting cotton

You will need this for all your main and lining pieces. If you are making a plain pouch, printed canvas can be used as an alternative.

- Fusible fleece

This is used to pad your pouch. I use Vlieseline H630 or Pellon 987F. You can use cotton wadding if you prefer.

- Interfacing

You will need a medium-weight fusible interfacing to back all the lining pieces. I back the main exterior pieces with a woven interfacing like Pellon Shape-Flex SF101 or Vlieseline G700 if I make a plain canvas pouch.

- Closed ended zips

6'' zip for the pocket on the back.

8'' zip for the main closure.

Longer nylon zips can be used and trimmed to size if you like.

Equipment and tools:

Rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilting ruler, scissors, thread, iron, Wonder clips/binding clips, pins, trick marker/disappearing fabric pen, seam ripper (just in case), basting spray, zipper foot, walking foot (optional), temporary fabric glue pen (I use a Sewline glue pen, optional).
