This cowl got its inspiration from the beautiful Pine forests of Finland. Finnish word Kaarna means bark. The colors of bark can vary from reddish brown to almost black and it makes the forest floor shimmer in different shades of brown. The bark surface is beautifully layered and strong. It protects the tree from cold and wind as this cowl is to protect me from the northern winters.

Yarn: Villa Mokka, Mokkasukka (Fingering, 75% wool, 25% polyamide, 100 g = 460 yards (421 m))
OR any other Fingering weight yarn to fit the gauge.

Needles: US 1½ / 2.5mm circular needle 16 inches (40 cm).

Gauge: 38 sts x 50 rows = 4 inches (10cm) of cable pattern blocked.

Length: 11¾ inches (30 cm).

Circumference: 22¾ inches (58 cm).
