The Burlington Cowl was designed in honor of the Eagle Bend Alpaca Farm’s Annual Fall Retreat, the weekend of October 15-17th, 2021, in Burlington, Kentucky. This special weekend provides some much-needed quality time for guests to stitch their hearts out and work on handmade projects while relaxing, enjoying great conversation, and eating delicious food. Eagle Bend Alpaca Farm is the perfect location for a weekend filled with yarn!

I designed this cowl as a skill-building pattern for the confident advanced beginner looking to expand their skills or an interesting project for an intermediate knitter. The geometric design is created with mosaic knitting — a way to create a colorwork pattern while holding only one yarn at a time, just knitting/purling and slipping stitches.

The stitch pattern for this cowl is inspired by their beautiful farm and their luxurious yarns that are a joy to knit with. The textured mosaic stitches are worked in squishy garter stitch, making this cowl extra cozy.
