Holiday Gift & Budget Tracker Spreadsheet (Excel + Google Sheets)

Plan the holiday season in one spreadsheet. List who you're buying for, give each person a budget, and follow every gift from idea to given: store or link, price, bought, wrapped, shipped and tracking number.

WHAT'S INSIDE (9 TABS)

• Recipients: per-person budgets, with flags for over budget, plan over budget, no gift yet, all bought and all given
• Gift Log: up to 300 gifts, with dropdowns and an automatic status for each one
• Dashboard: budget vs. spent overall, by group and by category, what's left to buy, wrap and ship, and 3 bar charts
• Other Spending: a budget and log for food, decor, travel, cards & postage, hosting, wrapping, donations and other (rename any category)
• Shipping Deadlines: type in your carriers' holiday ship-by dates, then see days left plus "ship soon" and "ship-by date passed" alerts on your gifts. A banner on the tab reminds you that cutoffs change every year and to check each carrier's published holiday deadlines. No dates are filled in for you.
• Card List: who gets a card, how it's sent, and what's still to go out
• Person View: pick one person to see only their gifts
• Settings and Start Here: season name, currency label, overall budget, main gift-giving date, and how-to notes

Room for 60 people, 300 gifts, 200 other expenses, 15 carrier rows and 200 cards. A filled-in demo copy with fictional people is included.

WORKS WITH

Tested in LibreOffice; converted and checked in Google Sheets (sheet protection doesn't carry over); opens in Excel. Live formulas, no macros. Formula cells are locked with no password in the .xlsx; Google Sheets doesn't keep that lock.

NOT INCLUDED

Carrier deadline dates (you enter your own), package tracking, reminders, bank or store connections, and currency conversion (the currency is a label only). It doesn't connect to any account.

HOW IT WAS MADE

Built with AI assistance. All 2,239 formulas recalculated in LibreOffice with 0 errors, and a Google Sheets conversion kept every formula with the same results.
