Great ways to start Fission Knitting!

Meet the Maia Scarf—a quick, satisfying introduction to Fission Knitting! Holding two strands of worsted yarn together gives this scarf a plush, marled texture with a effortless boho vibe. Because it’s fully reversible, both sides showcase a unique, beautiful cable motif—meaning there’s no wrong side to wear.

Worked on 8mm (US 11) needles, it flies off the needles while teaching you the core Fission Knitting cables.

Full stitch tutorials are included so you can watch your confidence grow with every repeat.

Yarn: 2 colours of Worsted Weight yarn

Yarn Usage: 300 yd/ 275 m of each colour

Needles: 8 mm/ US #11 needle; straight or circular.

Gauge: 13 st and 26 rows to 4 in/ 10 cm in holding 2 yarns together in purlwise garter worked flat (purling every row)

Sample Finished Size: 5.5 in/ 14 cm in width; 84 in/ 213 cm in length

Notions: cable needle, tapestry needle, 1 removable stitch marker

Recommended Yarn: MDK Atlas; Lapis (MC) & Leek (CC); 3 skeins each.

Note: 2 skeins of each colour would make a scarf between 4-6 ft/ 122 (152, 183) cm long.

Adjust the width: use 2 colours of yarn of any weight to change the gauge
