During our travels across Sri Lanka, we had the chance to record the soothing sounds of rain from several resorts around the island. From gentle drizzles to intense downpours, this collection captures both the peaceful and dramatic moods of tropical rainfall.
We recorded from outside, where raindrops tapped against metal roofs and splashed into pools, as well as from inside a quiet hotel room, where the muffled sound of rain created a cozy, immersive atmosphere.
Throughout the library, you’ll hear rain dripping from palm trees and bushes, the distant roar of the ocean, and occasional gusts of wind weaving through the landscape. At night, the ambience deepens with frogs, cicadas, and geckos, adding a subtle mysterious layer. By morning, birds join in, blending with faint traffic in the distance.
